What correx is good for
- Property signs – for-sale, to-let and show-day boards. See estate agent boards.
- Event and directional signs – arrows to a venue, parking or a show day.
- Temporary site notices on construction sites and during renovations.
- Promotional pole signs and campaign signs.
- School and community events – fun runs, markets and open days.
Typical correx projects
Correx is the material behind most for-sale boards on suburban verges, the arrows pointing to a weekend show house, temporary 'entrance' and 'parking' signs at a school fete, site notices during a renovation and promotional boards cable-tied to fences. If your sign is needed for days, weeks or a few months and must be affordable in quantity, correx is usually the sensible choice.
Strengths and limits
Correx is light, cheap and easy to cut, fold and fix with cable ties. It handles rain well. However, it is not made for permanent outdoor signs: strong sun fades print and makes the board brittle over time, and it can bend or crease. For signs that must last, chromadek or ACP is better. See ACP vs chromadek vs correx.
Fixing options
- Cable ties through punched holes for poles and fences.
- Wire stakes that slide into the flutes for lawns and verges.
- Double-sided boards for signs seen from both directions.
- Mounting onto a frame for property boards.
Please check local rules before putting signs on public road reserves and lamp posts; municipalities control signs in public spaces.
Wire stakes suit soft soil; in hard ground, pre-make a hole first. Boards cable-tied to fences should be tied at all corners so wind does not tear the holes.
Pricing and lead times
Correx board prices show online in the property boards and rigid sign boards categories, with Economy, Standard and Express options. Large quantities and custom sizes can be quoted. Pay online by card through Yoco, or by EFT. Orders under R5,000 are paid in full before production starts; orders of R5,000 or more need a 65% deposit.
Design tip: use big, high-contrast lettering. Correx signs are usually read from a moving car.
