Why choose chromadek
- Durable outdoors – steel with a painted finish handles sun and rain well.
- Rigid – holds its shape on poles, frames and fences.
- Economical – usually less expensive than ACP for straightforward boards.
- Versatile – takes vinyl lettering and printed vinyl graphics.
The trade-off is that chromadek is heavier than ACP and the cut edges of steel need care over time. For a premium flat look on a building, ACP is often preferred. Compare them in ACP vs chromadek vs correx.
What a chromadek sign looks like
A typical chromadek sign is a flat steel panel with your wording and logo in cut vinyl or a full-colour printed vinyl applied to the face. Edges can be folded or framed for extra stiffness on larger boards. Colours are applied using vinyl, so you are not limited to the colour of the steel itself, and wording can be updated by replacing the vinyl.
Common uses
- Business boards on boundary walls and fences
- Construction and site boards (see construction site hoarding)
- Estate, complex and farm entrance signs
- Parking, directional and no-entry signs (see wayfinding signs)
- Safety signs for factories, warehouses and sites
