Where building wraps are used
- Construction and renovation – covering scaffolding with a printed image of the finished building or the developer's branding.
- Advertising – large brand campaigns on suitable facades.
- Property marketing – announcing a new development, leasing opportunity or opening.
- Event and seasonal branding – temporary facade graphics for campaigns.
Materials
Large facade graphics are usually printed on mesh, which lets wind pass through and reduces load on the structure, or on solid banner material where wind load allows. Smaller facade areas can use self-adhesive vinyl on suitable surfaces. The material is chosen based on the size, location, fixing method and how long the wrap needs to stay up. Read about materials in the banner materials guide.
Planning and approvals
- Approval. Building wraps are large external signs. Local municipal outdoor advertising bylaws may require approval, and the building owner must agree. Check this first; see signage approvals.
- Structure and fixing. Wraps need a safe way to be fixed, often to scaffolding or a frame. Your contractor's input may be needed.
- Access. Installing at height requires the right access equipment and safe working conditions.
- Artwork at scale. Images must have enough resolution for their final size; we usually work to scale. See artwork guidelines.
Pricing and timeline
Building wraps are always quoted by the team. We need the site address, photos, rough measurements and how long the wrap needs to be up. A site visit for measurements is normally required. Installation is quoted separately because access and fixing vary widely. Timelines are confirmed on the quote. Pay online by card through Yoco, or by EFT. Orders under R5,000 are paid in full before production starts; orders of R5,000 or more need a 65% deposit.
Smaller projects may suit site hoarding or billboard printing instead. Request a quote.
